Arizona forward Johan Larsson to have hearing for illegal hit

Arizona Coyotes forward Johan Larsson will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Saturday following an illegal hit to the head of St. Louis Blues forward Zach Sanford.

The hit in question occurred just over six minutes into the third period. Sanford was carrying the puck over the blue line into the Coyotes zone, Larsson turned his body to make the hit where he catches Sanford in the head with his shoulder.

Larsson received a two minute penalty on the play for an illegal check to the head. Sanford was shaken up, but appeared to be okay and stayed in the game.

In 13 games this season, Larsson has 1 point (1 G), 11 penalty minutes, and is a -5. He signed a two-year contract with Arizona in the off-season after spending the past seven years with the Buffalo Sabres organization.
