A new report from an NHL reporter with sources inside the 2018 WJC scandal has found that four of the five members of the team implicated in the scandal could face immediate punishment.

Five Members Of Team Canada Urged To Surrender To London Police

Earlier today a report from TSN indicated that five players four of which were playing in the NHL were being directed to surrender to police. Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Dillon Dube, Alex Formenton, & Cal Foote are the players who will be facing charges officially at this time.
With this news reported NHL investigative reporter Rick Westhead continued to dig into what this means for the players going forward. He found one interesting piece of information that could lead four of these players to be punished before a trial even begins.

Four Members Of The 2018 WJC Scandal May Immediately Be Punished

A report from Rick Westhead indicates that Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Dillon Dube, and Alex Formenton could all face immediate punishment. According to Westhead players could be restricted from leaving Canada due to this process playing out. Cal Foote would be exempt due to being a duel citizen of Canada and the United States.
This would mean that Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Alex Formenton, and Dillon Dube, even if they were allowed to play in the NHL during this legal process, would be limited to just Canadian-based games.

Callan Foote, the fifth member, is a dual-citizen of Canada and the United States of America.

While these players likely won't be given a chance to return to the NHL while these proceedings play out if they did this would heavily impact the games they could play in. Now that they have all been charged none of them should set foot in the NHL again anyway.
This process will continue to play out over the next several months. As updates become available along the way we will provide them to you.
