The Montreal Canadiens hosted the New York Islanders last night. While they held onto the win 4-3, the game was certainly not without its fair share of drama.

Gallagher Ejected After Dirty Hit On Pelech

Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher was ejected last night after he made a dirty hit on Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech. The play came late in the game and was completely unnecessary.

That's gonna be a suspension for Brendan Gallagher, absolutely trash elbow

The play has drawn a lot of attention from around the league. Now one of Gallagher's old teammates has shared his thoughts on the play.

Subban Calls For Serious Suspension For Former Teammate

PK Subban, former NHL defenseman turned analyst, commented on the play on X. He noted that it was not a hockey play and compared it to a hit Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy was suspended five games for earlier in the year.

I hate to say it, but this hit is worthy of a suspension.

Gallagher will almost certainly face a hearing with the Department of Player Safety tomorrow. The only question is, how long will his suspension be?
