The NHL's Player Assistance Program has been a great help to many dealing with issues away from the ice, and now it's being reported that one Avalanche forward will be returning to the program.

Valeri Nichushkin out indefinitely for the Colorado Avalanche

According to one NHL reporter, the troubled Avalanche forward will once again be in the NHL's Player Assistance Program, meaning he will be out indefinitely for Colorado.

This is not official yet, but I'm hearing Valeri Nichushkin is back in the NHL player assistance program, out indefinitely

This isn't the first time he has needed this, as an alcohol related issue last April during the Avalanche's playoff push forced him away from the team, but many believed those issues were in the past.

No further details have been released, so it is unclear whether or not another incident has led to this call, but for now, we hope he can get better and will wait to see what the situation is.

In 40 games this year, Nichushkin has starred for Colorado with 22 goals and 42 points, so they will certainly be hoping to see him on the ice once again in 2023-24.
