On monday the Philadelphia Flyers traded former 5th overall pick Cutter Gauthier to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Jamie Drysdale and a second round pick in 2025. Cutter, who when drafted stated "he was born to be a flyer" reportedly refused to sign with them the following year, causing the Flyers to act quickly. Today, Gauthier played in his first game back for the Boston College Eagles and Flyers fans may have crossed the line with their immense frustration for the American Star Forward.

Flyers fans absolutely give it to Cutter Gauthier

Across social media, Flyers fans have been criticizing Cutter and sending him and his family death threats and verbal abuse for not wanting to play for the Flyers. Today, they took it to the next level by showing up to his college game and absoultely giving it to him with boos, and threatening signs. It was also reported that some fans wearing flyers apparel were denied entrance amidst the situation going on between Gauthier/Flyers.

Flyers fans taking it to far?

The Flyers have every right to be mad and frustrated with Cutter Gauthier as he does not want to play for them. Being a young player who never played an NHL game, saying and doing something like that speaks volume on the character the player is. Although showing up to his college game to blatantly shame on this kid is taking it way to far. The kid made a decision that is undisclosed right now, and this NHL drama should not be taken into a college hockey game.
