BREAKING: Alex Ovechkin Refuses to Attend NHL Event

After years as the face of the Washington Capitals and one of the game's best players, we may not see Alex Ovechkin on this big stage again in his career.

When the All-Star rosters were announced, some were surprised to see Tom Wilson as the Washington Capitals representative, and now, we may know the reason why.

According to a report, Alexander Ovechkin notified the team that he does not want to attend the All-Star Game, and whether or not this played a key role in the selection of Wilson, it's a big star that will no longer be at the event.

This season, Ovi has just eight goals and 24 points in 36 games played as we watch his career wind down, but it will still be a rare sight to not see the big star at the All-Star Game after being awarded the honour 12 times throughout his career.
