Patrick Kane's time in Detroit has been brief, with just 11 games played on the third team of his NHL career, but already there's rumblings of his time with the Red Wings coming to an end.

The Patrick Kane sweepstakes saga lasted for months in the summer, with many teams looking to land the three-time Stanley Cup Champion, but ultimately, he would end up with the Detroit Red Wings.
While Kane has been fantastic for the team, notching 11 points in 11 games played, they've won just three of those games, and it could mean an abrupt end to his time with the Detroit.

Could Patrick Kane be dealt ahead of the trade deadline?

According to a recent report, that drop in form, which has seen Detroit go from a playoff spot to several points out of a Wild Card spot may lead to his departure, as Steve Yzerman has reportedly told Kane he would be moved to a contender if this doesn't change soon.
The one-year, $2.75 million contract includes the following stipulation: if the Red Wings don't find themselves in playoff contention by the deadline, Yzerman has agreed to trade Kane to a contender.

With the Red Wings dropping six of their past seven games, they now find themselves two points out of a Wild Card spot, with three teams between them and the playoff berth, and if Kane continues to produce at a point-per-game mark, there's no doubting that teams will line up to land the former Blackhawks and Rangers star.
