The Chicago Blackhawks hit the jackpot with the 2023 first overall pick, Connor Bedard. They now have something to build around: their superstar for years to come.

This will clearly be an advantage when the Hawks try to convince players to join their team in the free-agent market. Playing with a superstar can make a career.
Apparently, players are already interested in signing there, and we could start to see it as soon as this summer.

The renowned insider Elliotte Friedman talked about those rumors in a recent statement.
He believes they are a bit premature but didn't dismiss it either.
Today, however, Elliotte Friedman, regarded as one of the top NHL insiders in the game, addressed this rumor, and while he didn't outright say it wasn't happening, he did say that these links may be premature.
Matt Murley is not an idiot. He hears things. I've seen the stuff that he reports. He gets information, people talk to him. I would say about this one, I think it's premature.
Both Nylander and Pettersson are playing incredibly well for their teams. They'll surely ask for a significant raise after their current contracts end after this season.
The Blackhawks are in a good position to get at least one of them, and we can't wait to see what will happen.
