I guarantee you not many have seen anything like this before in a pro hockey game. A player in the ECHL was given a 10-minute penalty after returning food thrown on the ice.

Tyutyayev Gets 10 Minutes for Shooting Food

During a game in the ECHL between the Toledo Walleye and Kalamazoo Wings, Kirill Tyutyayev seemed somewhat annoyed when a faceoff was disrupted by a chicken nugget that was thrown on the ice from the stands. Tyutyayev skated over to the piece of food, and used his stick to shoot it back into the crowd. Apparently that's a big no-no.
"At an early ECHL game kids, a chicken nugget was thrown on the ice. Kirill Tyutyayev shot it back into the crowd and was assessed a 10-minute misconduct 😳"

ECHL Player Gets 10-Minute Misconduct For the Dumbest Reason

The misconduct seems a bit heavy-handed for something so minor. I suppose someone could have gotten a chicken nugget to the eye, but still. It's not hard to understand Tyutyayev being annoyed with the incident. Don't throw things on the ice during faceoffs.

Tyutyayev was drafted in the seventh round by the Detroit Red Wings in 2019. He's spent all of the last two seasons in the ECHL.
