Corey Perry was clearly a priority for the Blackhawks, as they traded for his signing rights and handed him a massive 4-million dollar deal.

Corey Perry Trade Appears Imminent, and Two Frontrunners Have Already Emerged

Only a few months into the Blackhawks chapter of his career, rumours indicate he may already be on his way out.
The Hart-winning tenacious veteran is highly desired by GMs for his playoff pedigree; a cup-win, and 3 consecutive finals appearances in 2020, 2021, and 2022, and the Blackhawks appear to be ready to capitalize on his value.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning are Eyeing Perry

Indeed, two contending teams appear locked in to bring in Perry. The first, the Toronto Maple Leafs, brought in Ryan Reaves in hopes to toughen up their lineup. Unfortunately, the Reaves experiment already appears to be a massive failure, with his on-ice performances being inherently negative, and him not living up to expectations. Bringing in Perry would shore up their bottom-six, and give them an enforcer who is just as talented as he is gritty.
The Maple Leafs have been connected to Perry for many years, and it is likely that they will consider adding him at the deadline. This is especially so when noting that the Maple Leafs' bottom six has not been producing well and could use a boost. Thus, don't be surprised if the Maple Leafs look to add him.

The second is the Tampa Bay Lightning, who signed Perry back in 2021 to a two-year $2-million deal. Perry was an integral piece of their 2022 cup-run, which ended in the finals against Colorado, and was a leader in their locker room.
Perry proved to be an amazing fit with the Lightning, so they could look to bring him back this season. This is especially so if the Blackhawks retain half of Perry's salary. He would be a nice addition to their bottom six, as he would provide secondary scoring to go along with grit and leadership.

What Type of Package Could the Blackhawks Expect for Corey Perry?

While Perry is a big name, he isn't anything more than a high-end bottom-sixer. The Blackhawks could likely squeeze out a high draft pick, maybe a 2nd or a 3rd, or a B-tier prospect. Either way, it will be a high-end return for the player they acquired for just a 7th round pick.
Where do you want Perry to land up?
