It was exactly what the team was hoping to avoid. A game this week between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins left the Leafs looking incredibly soft, something new GM Brad Treliving specifically tried to address in the offseason. It seems things are about to change.

According to Ryan Reaves, the team was given a message in the dressing room after failing to stick up for teammate Timothy Liljegren after he was injured in a collision involving Brad Marchand. Reaves said next time will be very different.

"It was addressed in the room. It'll change going forward."

Reaves was the only one to even say anything to Marchand following the incident. Tyler Bertuzzi was heavily criticized for his response.

Laughing and Smiling

Bertuzzi addressed his smile today saying he didn't feel the need to explain himself to anyone.

"People can perceive that however they want. I'm not going to explain myself."

The Leafs have placed Liljegren on LTIR, meaning he'll miss a minimum of 10 games, and probably longer. If Reaves is looking for a chance to prove himself, Toronto and Boston meet again on December 2nd.
