Hall Talks About Bedard's Struggles With the Media.

Taylor Hall, Connor Bedard's teammate, talked about how the rookie is handling the pressure and all the attention he's been getting from the media in a recent interview.
Here's what he said:
"I think he's handling it really well. I mean, he does way too many in-game interviews and stuff. I think they need to find a way to just let him play. But I think he understands his role as a major ambassador for the game of hockey and he's handling it so well. He doesn't seem to be fazed by it. But I think that it can be a bit too much for him at times. He doesn't say that, but it feels like it is.

This road trip is hard; we play 4-5 home openers against teams, then we play in Colorado at 8:30 and fly back for our home opener with no practice time before or anything.

Not making excuses, but it is a hard trip. But in saying that, it makes the rest of the season maybe a bit easier and the schedule less condensed, so we're going to battle through it and do the best we can."

Bedard: Playing Through the Pressure

As a first overall pick, there's a lot of pressure. As a generational talent with the "exceptional" status, there's even more.
Starting the season with a road trip like this one isn't easy, especially when you have no NHL experience.
Hall said he's handling it well. But for any 18-year-old starting in the NHL, who's getting as much attention as Bedard, will definitely feel the pressure, and it can be hard sometimes.
Even if he has dealt with pressure most of his life, it reaches another level in the NHL.
Let's hope he can continue to handle it and achieve his full potential.
