Over the years, we've seen many surprising upsets on the ice, and while that usually refers to winners and losers in the game, it can also refer to other encounters on the ice.

A major upset

In the latest pre-season game between the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens, we saw an unlikely collision between prospect Emil Heineman and veteran enforcer Zach MacEwan.
You may think you know how this one was going to turn out, but surprisingly, the young Heineman made a major impact, and after the incident, MacEwan even had to be helped to the locker room.

Two talented names

While it's not always good to see hits like this in the pre-season, Heineman is looking to make his mark on this roster and make the team, so it makes sense for him to be giving it everything he's got.
As for MacEwan, he didn't return to the ice, with the Senators offering this update on his situation.
Injury update: After sustaining respective injuries in the second period, #Sens forwards Tarun Fizer (lower body) and Zack MacEwen (upper body) will not return to tonight's game.
