The NHL's expansion has been a thing to behold in recent years, and now, with many cities clamouring for an NHL team, it appears only a matter of time until we see team No. 33 join the fray.

Interesting comments

The NHL's commissioner Gary Bettman has recently commented on the possibility, and while he down played the chances of it happening anytime soon, it appears plans are certainly in the works.
Now, one of the NHL's top insiders in Pierre Lebrun has now commented on the possibility, and for NHL fans looking for more teams in the league, this will be music to your ears.
«It's a matter of when not if Atlanta, Houston, Salt Lake, Quebec City. Utah Jazz owner is «super interested» in an NHL team»- Pierre LeBrun

Intriguing options

Unsurprisingly, the four cities that LeBrun name dropped were Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Quebec City and Houston, the four teams most linked to a new NHL team, and while it's likely not going to happen in the next few years, the process is sure to begin over the coming years.
The NHL is in a great position where they are now, but with all the new fans joining the fray with Vegas and Seattle, it makes sense for the NHL and their vast talent base to expand again, and if they can find success in any of these four cities, no one would be shocked to see team No. 34 on the way soon after.
