The Columbus Blue Jackets have added Mark Recchi to Head Coach Pascal Vincent's staff as an assistant coach.

Recchi has been an assistant coach in the NHL two other times in his post-playing career. He first was on the Pittsburgh Penguins staff from 2017 to 2020. Then he moved to the New Jersey Devils from 2020 to 2022. This will be the first team that Recchi will coach that he didn't play for.

In his playing career, Recchi played 1,652 games and had 1,533 points. He will bring NHL playing experience to an inexperienced coaching staff. Recchi in his career was known for being a good playmaker and now will be in charge of developing highly skilled playmakers like Kent Johnson and Adam Fantilli.
