It all started when Hsaek took a shot a Ovi for supporting Vladimir Putin. He didn't hold back in his comments:

Hasek's comments echoes what many people have been thinking in the last year. But he finally got Ovi's attention.
Hasek has just echoed the sentiments that many others have had over the past year, but now, he's caught the attention of Ovechkin.
Ovechkin Answers to Hasek
Ovi's reaction is exactly what you'd expect from him. Over his career, we saw many times that comments like these don't affect him. This one isn't an exception:
I'm not very interested in his statements, he told Russian news site Izvestia of Hasek's harsh assessment. Of course, I know him as a good goalkeeper in my time.
His answer wasn't appreciated by many fans, who don't have the same stance on Russia's situation.
