On Thursday, Jacob Perreault signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks.

The 27th selection of the 2020 NHL Draft scored 70 points (39 goals, 31 assists) in 57 games last season, skating with Sarnia in the Ontario Hockey League. His 39 goals were good enough for 10th in the league and he was 4th in powerplay goals with 15.

He is the son of former NHL forward Yanic Perreault. The Quebec native was named to the OHL First All-Rookie Team in 2018-19, when he recorded 55 points (30 goals, 25 assists) in 63 games.

The 18-year-old will look to make an impact sooner rather than later at the NHL level for an Anaheim Ducks team that could definitely use some more scoring.

"I'm more than a one-dimensional player," Perreault told the Ducks website after he was drafted. "I have a good shot and can beat the goalie 1-on-1. I see the ice pretty well, I understand the game really well. It's really something I try to use to my advantage, whether it's to fake the goalie out with a fake shot and go across to my teammate for a goal, or if it's a one-timer on the power play. I can use my speed really well. I'm a really coachable player. I really want to get better. I'll take any advice I can get. I'm really excited to get things started."
