REPORT: Canadian Team Aggressively Pursuing Patrick Kane
Patrick Kane is the number one free agent available and a Canadian team is aggressively pursuing his services.

We are currently just about a month away from the 2023-24 NHL season and most free agents are signed to deals with new teams who they are starting to practice with. Patrick Kane is an outlier in this category.
The American superstar remains unsigned; not due to lack of NHL interest but rather by his own choice wanting to return to health 100%.
Kane has made it clear that once he returns from hip surgery, he will sign his next contract with whichever team he chooses.
Toronto Interested In Kane
It was recently reported by NHL Trade Rumors that the Toronto Maple Leafs are heavily interested in Patrick Kane.
Kane to Toronto would give them an overpowering offense. Imagine a first line of Patrick Kane, Auston Matthews, and Mitch Marner. This would certainly dominate the league and would be nearly impossible to stop come playoff time.
The problem would be if the Leafs would have the cap space to sign Kane. They do not have basically any right now but if they were to trade a player like William Nylander for future assets and defensive help, they can likely give Kane a contract a bit below market value.
At this point, Kane will not sign for a while but once he does, he will become an instant difference maker.
