Jesse Puljuarvi's career is on the ropes but one team could take a chance on him to help him save his career.

Puljuarvi's Crazy Career

Jesse Puljuarvi's career has been a roller coaster thus far. It began with him being selected 4th overall in the 2016 draft by the Edmonton Oilers and fans were excited as he was projected as the perfect linemate for Connor McDavid.
However, he never quite adjusted to that. He played the first 317 games of his career with Edmonton registering 112 total points. His most successful season came in 2021-22 where he scored 36 points in 65 games and looked to be taking a truly positive step.
2022-23 was a disaster for Puljujarvi and saw him get traded to the Carolina Hurricanes where he did not score a single goal and registered only 2 assists in 17 games. After last season ended, Puljujarvi got double hip surgery and has since gone on to not sign a contract yet.

The Next Team?

Reporter Sammi Sibler who covers the Washington Capitals revealed he could be the perfect fit for the Capitals:
Silber says that signing Puljujarvi would be a low-risk, but with plenty of upside given his age and the talent he could bring to the Capitals' lineup, if he's able to rediscover what made him a top prospect ahead of the draft in 2016. Silber also noted that Puljujarvi's size and frame has allowed him to get better on the forecheck and in puck battles.

With Puljujarvi beginning to skate again, he could come back better than ever and fit perfectly into the Washington Capitals' system.
