A 700-game NHL vet has announced their retirement to the world.

Demers Announces Retirement

Defenseman Jason Demers recently went on the SJHN podcast and said the following:

"pretty much" retired from professional hockey — «95%. I'm right on the edge of retirement, if not retired.» - Jason Demers

Demers is currently in talks with the NHL Network and NBC Sports about becoming a TV personality.

Demers played 700 games throughout his NHL career registering 214 total points. He was picked in the 7th round of the 2008 draft by the Sharks and became a key roster player for San Jose for years. He played with the San Jose Sharks, Dallas Stars, Florida Panthers, Arizona Coyotes, and the Edmonton Oilers.

An official announcement is expected in the coming weeks.

We wish him all the best with his retirement and his potential post-playing TV career.
