Patrice Bergeron has offered insight into what he intends to do with his life over the next few years.

Bergeron Retires

Earlier this offseason, Patrice Bergeron announced his retirement.

He was still playing at an elite rate and could have kept an NHL role if he truly felt up to it but he has stated that it is his time to retire.

While Bruins fans may be sad to see one of their greats go, it is truly in his best interest.

Recently, Bergeron spoke about his intentions for retirement.

«It's been an amazing ride, 20 years, but also hockey brings you a lot of pressure and stress.

So, it will be a nice change to just be able to be the Uber driver for the family for a little bit and just relax.» - Patrice Bergeron

Spending time with his family and raising his kids will be a big factor in Bergeron's life from here on out. While it is unknown if Bergeron will ever join the Bruins as a member of the front office or coaching staff, Bergeron will definitely always have that door open in Boston if he ever decides to go that route.

As seen on Yahoo Sports - Retired Bruins star Bergeron happy to be 'Uber driver for the family' for now
