Calgary adds another former Canuck in Josh Leivo

The Calgary Flames have really drawn on the Vancouver Canucks this offseason to improve their roster. The Flames, who have already added two key members of the 2019-20 Canucks, have announced the signing of forward Josh Leivo. It's a one-year contract worth $875,000.

Leivo, 27, played in 36 games last season with Vancouver, recording 19 points (seven goals and 12 assists). In 169 career NHL games with Toronto and Vancouver, the 6-foot-2 winger has accumulated 31 goals and 34 assists for 65 points. The former AHL All-Star was originally drafted by Toronto in the third round (86th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.

On October 9th, 2020, Vancouver's number one goaltender for the last three seasons, Jacob Markstrom, signed a six-year, $36 million contract with the Calgary Flames. On the very same day, defenceman Chris Tanev signed a four-year, $18 million contract with Calgary. He had spent the previous 10 seasons with Vancouver.
