2017 2nd overall pick, Nolan Patrick, may be given another chance by a top-contending team.

Patrick's Tumultuous Career

For the longest time, it looked like Nolan Patrick would be the NHLs next superstar. After missing most of his draft year, Patrick wound up being selected 2nd overall by the Philadelphia Flyers with high hopes of him becoming their savior.

However, health and injury concerns have left Patrick sidelined from ever truly establishing himself as the NHLer he can be. He has missed two entire seasons of hockey thus far and has his best season come as a 19/20-year-old where he scored 31 points in 72 games. His last season was with the Vegas Golden Knights where he scored 7 points in 25 games.

A Fresh Start In Edmonton?

Per Inside The Rink, Patrick could be receiving a PTO (Professional Try Out) with the Edmonton Oilers.

Lots of speculation as of late surrounding the possibility of Nolan Patrick receiving a PTO contract with the Edmonton Oilers. This could be a steal of a contract and revitalize Patrick's career.

A fresh start alongside the NHL's biggest superstars could do wonders for Patrick's game. He could establish himself as the perfect linemate for Connor McDavid and as a complementary piece, he could break out into what everybody once hoped he could be.

At only 24 years old, Patrick has much more to offer in professional hockey as long as he is able to remain healthy.
