Carter Hart has long been considered a player on the verge of breaking out in the NHL, but after another quiet season in Philadelphia, whispers have picked up that he could be on the move.

A strange move

On Saturday, the Philadelphia Flyers announced they have signed goaltender Samuel Errson to a two-year extension, keeping him in Philly through the 2025-26 season. The odd thing, however, is that the deal was for nearly double league minimum, carrying an annual average value of $1.45-million. This is a big deal for a player with only 12 games under his belt.

With this move, many signs are now pointing towards him being the starter next season, and unfortunately for Hart fans in Philadelphia, this could mean an end to his polarizing time with the team.

Hart on the move?

Hart has already been linked to several teams this off-season, and with promise shown throughout his career, as well as still being just 24-years of age, there's plenty of value there.

Hart's best year came back in 2019-20 when he recorded a 24-13-3 record with a .914 save percentage and a 2.42 GAA, and if he can find himself on a contender, there's belief he can bounce back to that. So keep your eyes peeled on Philly, as a big move could be coming.
