Flyers' Prospect Reveals the Growing Tension With His General Manager

During the summer Flyers prospect Cutter Gauthier made headlines by skipping out on development camp. At the time he nor the Flyers gave an explanation for his absence. Now Gauthier has come out and given his side of the decision.

Gauthier Explains His Absence

Gauthier is coming off a fantastic season at Boston College where he put up 37 points in 32 games. He mentions the amount of hockey including the Men's World Championships this past season as a contributing factor. He also talked about his family and how important spending time with them when he can.

Making The Flyers Still The Goal

Many speculated that Gauthier skipping out on development camp was a subtle hint that he did not want to sign with the Flyers after his college career. Gauthier shut down these rumors and confirmed the plan is to be in Philadelphia in late April. He will return to Boston College where he will play alongside recent first-round picks Will Smith, Ryan Leonard, and Gabe Perreault. Together they will try to make a Frozen Four run and win an NCAA Championship.
