The Anaheim Ducks have been building a strong young core in recent years led by Trevor Zegras and Troy Terry, and now it appears one of them is sticking around for a long time.

A captain of the future?

According to a recent report, the rumblings out of Anaheim are that 25-year old Troy Terry has signed a long-term extension that would lock him in as a key piece of this team for a long time to come.

No numbers or anything else has been revealed yet, but given how key he's been to this team since arriving, it makes sense that the Ducks would want to keep him around.

A fantastic forward

Terry has spent six seasons with the Ducks, playing in 274 games, but has broken out in a big way over the past two years, recording 67 and 61 points in a combined 145 games over that span.

Now, the team will turn their attention to Zegras, but right now, many see Terry as just important to the future of this team, so Anaheim have gone one step closer to locking that core in for the foreseeable future.
