Russian Forward Finally Finds a New Home

Vladimir Tarasenko appears to have found a new NHL home.

The veteran Russian forward, 31, has remained unsigned since free agency began on July 1 (and since he fired his agent), but reports now indicate he won't be re-upping in the Big Apple, and will instead be moving up north to Canada and signing with the Ottawa Senators.

Tarasenko, who'd previously spent his entire career with the St. Louis Blues (with whom he won a Stanley Cup in in 2019), has come to an agreement with the Sens, according to EthanGSN of New York-based Gotham Sports Network.

Though rumours of Tarasenko landing in Canada's capital have been brewing for some time now, this is the closest thing hockey fans have seen to a deal getting done. This news tip has not yet been confirmed by either the Senators nor Rangers organizations, but he'd be an excellent fit for a team looking to become a genuine playoff contender once again soon.
