We now know what to expect from Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl in Edmonton.

McDavid and Draisaitl's Situation

It is no secret that the Edmonton Oilers have two of the best players in the world in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. McDavid is coming off of a 64-goal 153-point year while Draisaitl is coming off of a 52-goal 128-point year. The duo accounts for 4 of the past 7 MVPs and it is no surprise why.
They are currently making a combined $21 million per year with McDavid fetching $12.5 million while Draisaitl gets $8.5 million. Fans are starting to wonder if they will be career Oilers having three years and two years left on their contracts respectively.
If the Oilers want to keep both players, they will need to dole out a hefty sum to keep them in Edmonton for the rest of their careers.

Their Future's Revealed

Recently insider Bob Stauffer commented on their contract situations.
«I will say this, what happens, and there's a chance, I might insist to you it's better than 50/50 that both Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid sign long-term here. Do you think that shuts guys up forever if that happens?

One of the teams that I worried about for Leon was the Los Angeles Kings. Not after this summer, I'm not worried about L.A. anymore. They went and traded for Pierre-Luc Dubois, they did the Phillip Danault contract two years ago, and then they extended Anze Kopitar at a significant dollar amount. They're not going to be in the Draisaitl hunt a year from now.

I'll tell you, there's one place where Connor and Leon can play together, where they've got the cap space to take them both. That's with the Edmonton Oilers, remember that.»

This is quite encouraging for the Oilers as they will be able to keep their superstars in Edmonton barring anything unforeseen over the next two years.
The two will continue to help Edmonton on their quest for a Stanley Cup and potentially bring a Stanley Cup back to Canada for the first time in over 30 years.
