According to Alex Moretto, who is a writer for theScore, soon to be unrestricted free agent Taylor Hall will sign a short-term deal with the Colorado Avalanche. The deal is expected to be announced in the coming days.

This would be huge for the Colorado Avalanche if it turns out to be true, and would make the already Stanley Cup contenders that much more dangerous. As for Hall, this makes sense as well, seeing as he has never played on a contending team and wants to win. Plus, waiting an extra year or two for the salary cap to raise would earn him more money in the long run.

Hall, 28, split this season between the New Jersey Devils and the Arizona Coyotes. In 65 combined games, he had 16 goals and 52 points. Though it was a bit of a down year for him, everyone knows just how good the former first overall pick is. He proved that during the 2017-18 season when he put up 93 points in 76 games for the Devils, beating Colorado's own Nathan MacKinnon to win the Hart Trophy. To this point in his career, he has 563 points in 627 games.
