The Toronto Maple Leafs have just made a huge splash, as GM Brad Treliving has gotten Sheldon Keefe some critical reinforcements behind the bench.

Leafs Hire Boucher

The Toronto Maple Leafs have just announced that they've hired Guy Boucher as an assistant to Head Coach Sheldon Keefe.

The Leafs also announced that former Leaf Mike Van Ryn has also been hired as an assistant to Sheldon Keefe.

Boucher already has quite the coaching resume, as the veteran coach has spent time in both Tampa Bay and Ottawa as their Head Coach, as well as the top Swiss Club, SC Bern.

Boucher hasn't coached professional hockey since his departure from Ottawa in 2019, but we did not expect him to take an assistant role in Toronto of all places.

Congrats to Boucher on the new job, and good luck this season!
