Peter Holland was drafted 15th overall by the Anaheim Ducks all the way back in 2009 and has since been quite the journeyman. While throughout his career he never managed to find long-term success in the NHL, Holland was a serviceable 4th liner for quite some time.

Comeback Kid

Holland has spent the past three years in Europe, spending the first two in Russia, and the past year in Sweden. While his role has been mostly limited to that of a 4th liner, Holland has made the decision to try and return to the NHL.

According to Darren Dreger, Holland will be spending his summer training with fitness guru and former NHLer Gary Roberts, in hopes of earning himself a professional tryout this fall.

Holland Has a Chance

At just 32 years old, Holland still has a realistic chance of making an NHL team this fall. It's not like he's been sitting at home for three years, but rather, he's been playing in the second and third best leagues in the world.

Depending on how his training goes this summer, we could potentially see Holland's name as a serious candidate to make an NHL 4th line next season.

Good luck, Peter!
