We have breaking news for you all, as it's just been reported that the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, or the QMJHL, has officially banned fighting.

QMJHL Officially Bans Fighting

That's right folks, the QMJHL has banned fighting for the 2023-24 season.

The ban comes with a heavy set of punishments for those who decide to break the rule, including a game misconduct for anyone who fights, a one-game suspension for instigating a fight, and a two-game suspension for being the aggressor in a fight.

The QMJHL has been one of the most cautious leagues when it comes to fighting, already having strict penalties in place for players who chose to swap fists. Despite this rule's extreme unpopularity among fans, league officials are adamant that this is the right move.

The QMJHL is one of three major junior leagues that make up the CHL.
