The Flyers are currently in an in-between phase between rebuilding and trying to be competitive. Some top players will be traded if they go all in on a rebuild.

The Flyers' future is no secret. They have the pieces to be competitive but cannot come close to making the playoffs and will be forced to rebuild very soon.

Kevin Hayes has garnered much interest league-wide because of his two-way play and his ability to be a big piece for a team's middle six.

Currently, on the top line for the Flyers with the injury to Sean Couturier, Hayes posted a 54-point campaign as a 6'5" two-way center. This has many teams interested in Hayes being a potential 2nd line center behind an elite player.

Despite Hayes' large cap hit of over $7 million, a team may be willing to take a shot on Hayes because his style of play could provide much value. One team who has shown interest in Hayes is Columbus.

Columbus is in a weird position where they have young players coming up and could use a guy like Hayes to teach them two-way dominance ort pick up their slack.

What Hayes To Columbus Could Look Like

To PHI:
Jack Roslovic
2024 2nd round pick

This saves Philly some money while also getting a younger center to potentially be a future 2C behind 2022 5th overall pick Cutter Gauthier.
