A former NHL First Round Pick is looking to the league following a stint in Russia.

2014 1st rounder Nikolay Goldobin is plotting a return to the National Hockey League following three years spent in the KHL with Mettalurg.
Goldobin, 27, was drafted 27th by San Jose in the 2014 NHL Draft, and put up 2 Points in 11 Games before being traded to the Canucks in 2017.
Goldobin scored 44 Points in 114 Games with Vancouver, before leaving for Russia in 2020, following a struggle to maintain chances at the NHL Level.
Back in his native Russia, Goldobin had found himself as one of Metallurg's top players, and one of the KHL's best offensive talents.
According to Goldobin's agent, Sergei Isakov, the winger wishes to return to the NHL and attempt to re-spark his career options in North America.
Goldobin had 19 Goals and 36 Assists in 59 Games for Metallurg the past season, having led the team in Points the season prior. He last played in North America for the then-Canucks AHL affiliate in Utica, having 50 Points in 51 Games for the Comets, as well as a sole appearance for Vancouver the same season.
