A person's job is important, don't get me wrong, but there are certain things that come before work, even if you play in the National Hockey League. Family is one of a short list of things.

Today, before their clash against the Ottawa Senators Lightning coach Jon cooper said defender Mikhail Sergachev will be out of the lineup as he's welcoming his first child.

It's really nice to know that the NHL lets players take personal leave of absences for things like this. Being present and there while you welcome a child is one of life's most important things.

At this point in the season, with the first round matchup set for the Lightning there's also no pressure to make sure Sergachev is back in the lineup for the rest of the regular season.
