I'm starting to think 'Future Considerations' isn't a very good hockey player. The guy is an absolute suitcase.

The Detroit Red Wings have traded D Steven Kampfer to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for the infamous F.C.'s. This time of year is puzzling to some, as the NHL's trade deadline has already passed, yet teams are still making trades.

There are two reasons for that:
1. the AHL's trade deadline is March 21
2. NHL clubs can still make trades after the deadline, but such players cannot play in the regular season; only playoffs

Kampfer, 34, is also quite the suitcase. Since turning pro in the 2010-11 season, he has played for 12 different teams in three different leagues (AHL, NHL, KHL) plus an appearance for Team USA at the 2022 Winter Olympics.

The 231-game NHL veteran has 22 points in 44 games for the Grand Rapids Griffins this season, who sit 30th of 32 AHL clubs. Kampfer most recently played in the NHL for the Boston Bruins in the 2020-21 season, so this is purely a minor league deal.

Although, given the state of Arizona's team it wouldn't be surprising to see him back up soon.
