The Minnesota Wild secured a win over the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday but at great cost. In their 4-2 victory, the Wild lost star F Kirill Kaprizov to injury in the third period, and by the looks of it he could miss time.

Kaprizov got folded - not unlike a lawn chair - when Jets D Logan Stanley jumped on his back and tackled him; whatever it takes to defend Kaprizov, I guess. The Russian's leg extended awkwardly, sending him to the dressing room for the rest of the game.

Stanley received no penalty on the play, which sent Kaprizov off. His defense approach was unorthodox - though effective. What penalty - if any - would one even call here?

Kaprizov's fate is still uncertain, but head coach Dean Evason expressed concern in the post-game. He did skate off under his own power, which is encouraging. Although, that type of impact can inflict serious damage onto one's leg.

Just over a month from the postseason, Kaprizov has time to get himself right. For both his and the Wild's sake, the training staff had better get to work.
