We're nearly one week since the National Hockey League's trade deadline passed and information continues to come out about deals that didn't happen or teams that were in on certain players, but never ended up landing them.

One of the busier teams leading up to the deadline was the Nashville Predators, shipping Nino Niederreiter to the Winnipeg Jets, Tanner Jeannot to the Tampa Bay Lightning and Mattias Ekholm to the Edmonton Oilers. But one name they did receieve a call about was star goaltender Juuse Saros.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Los Angeles Kings made a call to Predators General Manager David Poile about the 27-year-old, but he wasn't on the market.

"I do think Los Angeles made an exploratory call to Nashville about Juuse Saros." Friedman said in his latest '32 Thoughts' article.

Ultimately, the Kings opted to go elsewhere to ensure they got a goaltender for their playoff push, landing another Finn, Joonas Korpisalo from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for franchise legend Jonathan Quick, who was then flipped to the Vegas Golden Knights.

While the Predators were in a bit of a sell-off before March 3rd, it was widely reported that anyone on their roster, with the exception of Saros, Filip Forsberg and Roman Josi, were available and quite frankly, David Poile did an excellent job with the assets he got back in the deals with Edmonton, Tampa Bay and Winnipeg in his final trade deadline of his career.
