On Thursday, Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff reported that Flyers forward Joel Farabee's camp has told management that they are unhappy with how the season has unfolded under John Tortorella.

Seravalli added that on Monday, Farabee only skated in 3:52 and that's when things began to boil over. While Farabee hasn't officially submitted a trade request, his camp is wanting answers on how to go forward in this situation.

Following Philadelphia's morning skate on Friday, Tortorella was asked by reporters about Farabee's situation based on Seravalli's article and he didn't hold back, telling the 22-year-old's agent to 'shut up'.

"This is news to me. Is his agent popping off that he's pissed off? He should shut up." Tortorella said.

He added, "By any stretch, I have not given up on Joel Farabee."

Farabee, a native of Syracuse (New York), has five years remaining on his contract beyond the 2022-23 season, with a cap hit of $5 million. In 59 games this season, Farabee has 26 points (nine goals, 17 assists), 30 penalty minutes and is a minus-three.

His performance this season hasn't been great and he isn't living up to the $5 million he's earning this season, which is part of the reason why he's been given limited opportunities in recent games. It's hard to pinpoint why Farabee has taken a bit of a step back this season, but it may have to do with the fact he had disc replacement surgery in his cervical region last summer.

It doesn't seem likely that the Flyers will part with Farabee. Both sides will need to sit down and hash out whatever issue they may have, but if they're unable to see eye-to-eye moving forward, maybe a trade could be possible this summer. But it's safe to say that the Flyers will do whatever it takes to ensure Farabee is happy and wants to remain in Philadelphia.
