According to Sportsnet's Chris Johnston, the Seattle Kraken have placed goaltender Chris Driedger on waivers for the purpose of AHL assignment.

Driedger, 28, hasn't played at all this season after suffering an ACL tear while playing for Canada at the 2022 IIHF World Hockey Championship, which required surgery and was expected to keep him off the ice for seven-to-nine months.

The Winnipeg native had a 9-14-1 record in 27 games with the Kraken season, along with a 2.96 GAA, an .899 save percentage and one shutout.

Johnston went on to add that the Montreal Canadiens have claimed forward Chris Tierney off waivers from the Florida Panthers.

Tierney, 28, signed with the Panthers last summer after spending the previous four seasons with the Ottawa Senators. In 13 games for Florida this season, Tierney had three points, while he also put up 16 points in 20 games for their AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.
