The Chicago Blackhawks have made their second trade in as many days. The team announced on Thursday that they've acquired defenceman Hunter Drew from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Josiah Slavin.

Drew, 24, was drafted by the Ducks in the sixth-round in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. In 44 games with Anaheim's AHL affiliate in San Diego, Drew had 11 points (five goals, six assists), 92 penalty minutes and was a minus-14. The Kingston (Ontario) native made his NHL debut in April 2022 against the San Jose Sharks.

Slavin, 24, was a seventh-round pick of Chicago in 2018. He joined the team in 2021 after spending two seasons in the NCAA with Colorado College. In 51 games for the Rockford IceHogs this season, Slavin had 11 points (three goals, eight assists), 16 penalty minutes and was a minus-13.
