The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has made its decision in the case of a Halifax Mooseheads player jabbing a fan with his stick while leaving the ice. The incident occurred Feb. 8, and the league initially said there wasn't anything it could do as no officials saw Zachary L'Heureux do anything and there was no video. Video surfaced a few days later.

The league has suspended L'Heureux for a total of 10 games.

"As demonstrated in the new video footage obtained by the League, the player's gesture which occurred following the game simply cannot be tolerated by the QMJHL. Moreover, since the player has been suspended on several occasions, he is considered as a repeat offender," stated the ruling.

The response on social media has been mostly surprise. Many expected L'Heureux to get a much harsher penalty, especially considering this wasn't his first time getting suspended.

L'Heureux is a 1st round pick of the Nashville Predators, 27th overall, in 2021.
