Rick Tocchet took over as head coach of the Vancouver Canucks three weeks ago, and so far things are - for the most part - statuesque.

Under Tocchet, the Canucks are 3-3-1. On par with the 50-40-13 record they posted under Bruce Boudreau.

The Canucks players had a nice break under Boudreau, though. Previous head coach Travis Green was known for his intense physical demands from his players, which played a role in his dismissal in 2021.

Boudreau wasn't nearly as rigid with his demands, and that complacency possibly played a role in the team's subpar performance this season. Which brings us to the Canucks' latest practice...

Rick Tocchet said he wants his players to "reach another level of fitness."

If you've never done this particular workout, just know: it's excruciating.

Tocchet might not be the best 'Xs and Os' guy, but he can definitely fire the boys up. Although, I'm not sure that's the best path to take given where the Canucks' season is.

If it were up to me, the more apathy the better. Let's tank this boat. Keep Connor Bedard in western Canada, know what I mean?
