According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, Vancouver Canucks goaltender Spencer Martin and Winnipeg Jets forward Axel Jonsson-Fjallby have been placed on waiver for the purpose of being assigned to the American Hockey League.

Martin, 27, has appeared in 29 games for the Canucks this season and has been the team's starter recently in absence of Thatcher Demko, who appears to be returning to the lineup based on today's news. Instead of keeping Martin up as Demko's back-up, as was the case at the beginning of the season, the Canucks will go with Collin Delia.

In those 29 games, Martin has a record of 11-15-1 with a 3.99 GAA and an .871 save percentage.

As for Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, he was placed on waivers just before the beginning of the season by the Washington Capitals and was claimed by the Winnipeg Jets. In 45 games this season, the Stockholm (Sweden) native has 11 points (four goals, seven assists), eight penalty minutes and is a minus-three.

In other related news, Edmonton Oilers forward Devin Shore has cleared waivers and will be assigned to the AHL's Bakersfield Condors.
