The 2023 NHL Entry Draft is just over four months away and several teams at the bottom of the league standings are vying for the first overall pick to select 17-year-old phenom Connor Bedard.

Among the teams that will have strong odds in the NHL's Draft Lottery is the Anaheim Ducks. In a recent interview, Bedard says that he hears from current Ducks forward and ex-teammate with the Canadian World Junior team, Mason McTavish, after every Anaheim loss.
"I get a McTavish text all the time if they lose." Bedard said.

Through 51 games this season, the Ducks have a 16-29-6, which gives them 38 points. They currently sit last in the Pacific Division, second-last in the Western Conference and 30th in the National Hockey League.
As for Connor Bedard, he's having an incredible season for the Regina Pats in the Western Hockey League. In 38 games, the North Vancouver native has 91 points (45 goals, 46 assists), 40 penalty minutes and is a plus-29.
