The Arizona Coyotes announced on Tuesday that they've signed defenceman Juuso Valimaki to a one-year contract extension, with Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman added that it's worth $1 million.

"We are very pleased to sign Juuso to a one-year extension," said Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong. "He is a big, strong, two-way defenseman who has been a great addition to our defensive corps. We look forward to having him on our roster next season."

Valimaki, 24, was claimed off waivers by the Coyotes from the Calgary Flames just before the start of the 2022-23 season. In 43 games this season, the former first-round pick has 12 points (two goals, ten assists), 20 penalty minutes and is a minus-ten.
