The San Jose Sharks will be among the sellers leading up to the NHL's trade deadline on Friday, March 3rd. One of the names on San Jose's roster that is expected to draw plenty of interest is 26-year-old Timo Meier.

On Tuesday's edition of 'Daily Faceoff Live', Frank Seravalli and former NHL goaltender Mike McKenna were discussing the New York Rangers and them wanting to add a top-six forward before March 3rd. Seravalli went on to say, other than Patrick Kane, the Blueshirts have interest in Meier.

"They do Mike, and I think everyone's curious what happens with Patrick Kane. I would include the New York Rangers in that group still as well. But they're also doing their due diligence on some others. I was told that Timo Meier of the San Jose Sharks has risen to the very top of the list as a potential trade target and fit for the Rangers." Seravalli said.

Meier, a native of Herisau (Switzerland), is set to become a restricted free agent at the end of this season and has a $10 million qualifying offer. In 45 games for the Sharks this season, he has 45 points (25 goals, 20 assists), 14 penalty minutes and is a minus-11.
