Although it was previously reported that Shane Wright was headed to the London Knights, it appears as though a third team swooped in to acquire the Kraken prospect from the Kingston Frontenacs.

According to Scott Wheeler of The Athletic, Shane Wright has been traded to the Windsor Spitfires in exchange for center Ethan Miedema (2023) and a slew of draft picks.

Darren Dreger corroborated Wheeler's report, so this one sounds close to a done deal.

No official announcement has been made - yet.

With a record of 23-9-3-1, the Spitfires sit just three points out of first place in the OHL's Western Conference standings. The only team ahead of them?

The team they just undercut, the London Knights. You know what they say, all is fair in love and war.

The trades we are seeing in Canadian junior hockey this season suggests the Memorial Cup championship is going to be an absolute bloodbath, which is great for fans. Teams are stacking up on talent, paying hefty prices to do so.

Regardless of who wins, the Memorial Cup will be must-watch TV, so mark your calendars for May 26.
