The injuries keep on coming for the Montreal Canadiens and on Friday, the team issued updates on several key players, including rookie defenceman Kaiden Guhle.

Starting with the aforementioned Guhle, the Canadiens announced that he will be out for a minimum of eight weeks with a lower-body injury. Guhle is reportedly dealing with a knee issue, which he sustained during Montreal's loss to the Florida Panthers on December 29th.

Veteran forward Brendan Gallagher is set to miss the next two weeks with a lower-body injury. It's unclear if it's the same injury that kept him out for a month, before returning for Montreal's game against Florida on December 29th. Gallagher appeared in three games in his return, before suffering the injury and did not play on Thursday against the Rangers.

Finally, defenceman Mike Matheson and forward Sean Monahan are both progressing well from their respective lower-body injuries and skated on Friday morning, but will be out for the next two weeks.

Matheson has been out since mid-December with his injury and didn't accompany the Canadiens on their seven-game road trip. As for Monahan, he suffered his injury during Montreal's game against Vancouver in early December and hasn't played since.

The Canadiens will look to snap their seven-game losing streak on Saturday night when they host the St. Louis Blues. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET on CityTV, Sportsnet East and TVA Sports in Canada, as well as Bally Sports Mid-West in the United States.
