According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Winnipeg Jets have placed 25-year-old forward Jansen Harkins on waivers.

Harkins, a native of Cleveland (Ohio), was drafted in the second round by the Jets in 2015. He's become a regular in their lineup over the last few seasons. In 22 games this year, Harkins has five points (three goals, two assists), 12 penalty minutes and is a plus-four.

He's in the first year of a two-year deal signed back in July and is earning $850,000 per season.

If Harkins clears waivers at 2 p.m. ET on Tuesday, he'll be assigned to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League.
